In the eighteenth century Naples is a cosmopolitan city, full of vitality and creativity, which is at its golden age. The city of Naples is considered the major center of Italian cultural life: it is precisely in this period that some of the best Italian masterpieces are realized.
Worthy of note are the decoration with tiles of the cloister of Santa Chiara, the discovery and excavation of Pompeii, the construction of the San Carlo Theater - the first and oldest in the world - and so on. Also in the same period, the Prince of Sansevero had some of the finest works ever seen sculptured: The Veiled Christ by Sammartino, the Disillution by Queirolo and Modesty by Corradini.
